Question Linux and support for "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD"

hello
I'm going to buy new Laptop and I wouldn't like to buy one with poor graphics hardware support under linux.
One of the candidates is dell latitude.
It has sth called "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD".
Does it have good support on linux?
Or maybe I should consider only those with nvidia or intel hd graphics?
Additional information: Huge graphics performance is not very important for me. This machine is not intended for playing present 3D game monsters.

best regards for all

I think Intel is known as well supported under linux. My netbook has Intel GMA945 and works pretty well, but I don't know about that HD. Since you don't need heavy 3D acceleration stuff I suppose you won't have a problem, unless this is a brand new exotic chip.

Intel supports it graphics devices under Linux very well, with some exceptions: The GMA500, GMA600, GMA3600 and GMA3650 chips, which are in fact not designed by Intel but by PowerVR, have very poor or no Linux support. These devices are only found in systems with Atom CPU, so if you go for the regular Pentium or Core i-series CPUs you will be fine.
