Linux and a 200gb harddrive

Hi all,
I just installed Ubuntu and all I can say is wow... this rules. I want to install it on my main desktop machine which has a 200gb harddrive and windows xp now. My issue is that I know my computer did not recognize the full size of my disc until after i had installed Western Digital's software for large discs (and that was an adventure in its own right). I really wanna get ubuntu going on that computer... but I want to keep the full 200 GB, does anyone know if this is possible at all, I already checked, WD has no linux drivers, only windows and dos ones. Any info would be great

You do not need drivers for hard drives. If you make /boot partition smaller than the maximum capacity the BIOS can boot to, you will not have any problems. Linux is able to squeeze through the BIOS cracks and use its own hard drive geometry calculations which is far more flexible than the BIOS as the computer ages and motherboard manufacture stop giving out BIOS updates. The Linux kernel is able to find about 2 terabytes with out the need to configure and compile it.
