Linksys WMP11 v3 Wireless PCI Card

I'm having problems getting my WMP11 wireless card working under Linux, and I'm hoping I can find a little help here.

From what I've been reading, Linksys changed the chipset in the WMP11 series of cards for version 2.7 from Prism2 to a Broadcom chipset. Unfortunately, products using the Broadcom chipset aren't supported in Linux.

However, it would seem that version 3 of the WMP11 (which I have) might be built on a PrismIII chipset. I was all ready to return the card until I read that, and just want some clarification before I do. Can anyone give me an answer as to which chipset it's running?

/proc/pci leads to me believe it's still using the Broadcom chipset:

Bus 0, device 19, function 0:
Network controller: PCI device 14e4:4301 (Broadcom Corporation) (rev 2).
IRQ 12.
Master Capable. Latency=32.
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe1000000 [0xe1001fff].

Thanks in advance.

That's a Broadcom controller alright, the WMP11 v2.5 and lower had Intersil/Prism right there on the Network Controller line...

The version 3 of the WPC11 is the one that's still a prism2 device.

For a trade in, I would recommend a DWL-520 (not the 520+), just the 520, or Netgear's PCI card, those are both still Prism.

Cheers,
