Link Terminal?

I obtained a link terminal from work and would like to hook it up to my system. Not sure why or even what I can do with it. But I don't have much better to do.
Any ways if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I have it hooked up to my computer but when I turn it on the terminal dosn't do anything. I assume I need to add a program or configure it to comunicate back and forth. Like I said I havn't the fogiest idea where to go from here.
