I have a WinBook XL (LinBookXL) that I had working in xFree86. I had to disable the touchpad and use an external usb mouse because of an irq conflict between the pcmicia lan card and the touchpad. I did not have a usb mouse with me and hooked up a ps2 mouse to the docking station hoping that would work for the moment. Kudzu found the generic ps2 mouse on boot and installed the drivers. When I started x it the mouse and keyboard were locked up just like before I disabled the touchpad. I removed the ps2 mouse from the system, and rebooted with the usb mouse attached but to no avail. It never asked me to keep or remove the generic ps2 mouse settings; and it still freezes when I go into xFree86. I think the ps2 mouse is conflicting with the nic's irq. How do i remove the ps2 mouse from my computer? also is there anyway to specify which irq a peice of hardware recieves? So that i can enable my touchpad and use ps2 mice?
