Hi I have Suse 9.1 (kernel 2.6.4-52-default) running and tried to install some extra packages but my LG cdrom isn't working properly. Konqueror opens the /media/cdrom directory but fails to show any files. If I open the directory in mc I see the files but can't copy them (I was trying to copy to HD to use as different installation source). The CD definitely works (I tried it in my 2nd machine (same Distro and kernel) and I can view and copy files in Konq and mc.
lspci gives

dmesg gives
hdc media error bad sector:status 0x51
hdc media error bad sector:error 0x30
end_request I/O error
and Buffer I/O error on dev hdc (with various sector and block numbers)

This drive is the same drive used to install from. What can I do?
