Question Lexmark Z23 Printer drivers


Does anyone Know where i can get a Lexmark printer driver that actually works

i got one from Lexmark but heres what it does when i try to install it:

Verifying archive integrity...OK
Uncompressing Lexmark Z23-Z33 Printer Driver.....................
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

couldn't connect to display ":0.0"

I know that lexmark has linux drivers for some of their printers on their site. I found the driver for the z22/z23 printers awhile back but I've been a little to lazy to get ink for my printer to try them. I also remember that at the time usb wasn't supported so you have to use a serial cable. It's been awhile since I've looked but I'd check their site.

Maybe try physically logging in as root, not just a superuser terminal and then install. IMO it's trying to put a gui output to your user screen but can't as it needs to be root.
