Lexmark Printer driver Mandrake 10
 

Hi

I have a Lexmark Z605 usb printer which I want to get working with Mandrake 10 kernel 2.6

Has anyone done it? I've tried the Lexmark site but the driver here only seems to work with Kernel 2.4

I am new to Linux so I need as much help as possible!!

I don't know if this is relevant to what you're trying to do but I recently (last night) decided to boot from a 2.6 kernel. I'd been running 2.4 quite happily with my Lexmark USB printer configured ok, my usb keyboard detected fine.

When the machine booted, I lost all USB devices and would only come back when I reverted to the 2.4 kernel. So, when I go home tonight, I'm going to updage the usb rpms and see what happens... I reckon it's probably something like that as opposed to being a problem with the lexmark driver... at least I hope so as it took ages to get the driver working!!!!
