latitude p150 xpi port replicator
what is the address, irq and dma info for setting up the xpi p150 ethernet port on the replicator for Linux? Is there a boot option to recognise this card under say Redhat 7.0 ? The ethernet pcmcia card works fine, but I can't get RH kudzu to find the replicator ethernet. I think its a 3 com 509. Somebody with one of these on windows might be able to help.
I have a donation project for disabled clients who need to network using the replicator. Please help a worthy cause.

try this command

modprobe 3c509

it should be configured automatically

And you will put this in /etc/modules.conf

alias eth0 3c509

or eth1 if you have eth0

dmesg shows this

eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag 1, 10baseT port, address xx xx xx xx xx xx, irq 10.

Our group has about 10 experience, so all those easy solutions have been tried.
So far we have got the hardware recognised and are able to ifconfig and ping its own address, but no luck pinging the network.
This Tuesday Feb 03 we found that RedHat 7.3 Kudzu recognised it and we could ping the network, but 7.3 has too much bloat in the GUI for a P150 with 32MB.
Now we have to figure out how 7.3 recognises and configures this pnp device and hack that over to something like Vector Linux.

Thanks for all the suggestions, and I'll let you know how we get on.
