Laserjet 5L with SuSE 8.0?

Hi all!

I've got a problem installing my HP Laserjet 5L PCL with SuSE 8.0
The printer itself is supposed to print 600x600 dpi on grayscale, but selecting this mode it just prints gibberish. I have to select ghostscript ljet4, with 300x300 dpi on b/w. This works, but looks very simple.

I looked it up in SuSE's SDB, they say one has to have at least 4 MB of RAM installed in the printer. I have 5 installed MB of RAM, but it doesn't work anyway...

Is anyone able to help me?

Well yes, before your post I already tried out the ljet4 with 600x600 dpi, and it doesn't look that bad.
