Laser printers
 

Hello. I am running Mandrake 10.1. I want to buy some cheap laser printer for my domestic needs, and I spotted HP LASERJET 1020 that appealed to me with its 135 euros price. But HP pre-sell help desk warns me that they don't think it is compatible with a LINUX system because it is an "entry level "printer.

What does that mean? Is there anybody that can counsel me on which item I can safely buy?

I would advise you to spend some time at http://www.linuxprinting.org/
and look through the information there. The HP Laserjet 1020 is listed as 'mostly working'. There are some very good rcomondations on that site.
