Large backups or Tar doesn't work

Hi

I am trying to do some large backups on a tape (exabyte 8mm on exabyte 8505XL) on redhat 7.2 on my IA64 system.

I notice that large backups failed , but small backup are
ok and the limit would be around 40M

My scsi chain is well finished by a terminator and I don't have scsi conflicts.

When it doesn't work I have :
[root@daphne usr]# dump -0f /dev/st0 /dev/sda3
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Fri Oct 4 13:08:13 2002
DUMP: Dumping /dev/sda3 (/) to /dev/st0
DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
DUMP: write error 82340 blocks into volume 1: Input/output error

and I the messages files :
st0: Error 27070000 (sugg. bt 0x20, driver bt 0x7, host bt 0x7).

could you help me if possible

Cheers

Some last editions :

I changed the drive to a new one with REV 07TO and cables
and the problem is still the same.

Do you know where I could download a new st driver or patch

Thanks for your reply ...

Cheers
