My laptop has the numpad overlaid on the normal letter keys ('j' = '1', 'u' = '4', etc), but I can only use the numbers if I hold 'fn+shift'. If I just hold 'fn+[key]', I get the 'seeking' behaviour of the numpad (ie. arrow keys, home, end, etc). The laptop's NumLock key is (apparently) 'fn+ins', and this has no effect whatsoever (neither does 'fn+del', the scroll lock).
This is a little odd, and starting to annoy me since I have to do quite a bit of data entry. I would certainly like the numlock to work, and I thought that 'fn+[key]' should give me the number as well. Is there an easy way to diagnose or fix this?
Thanks.
