Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Laptop as server control console?

Is there any way that a laptop can be used as a control console for a server? By that I mean can it simply be used as a monitor, keyboard & mouse for the server regardless of OS (if any)on the laptop. I would like to be able to hook my Linux & Win2K servers to a switch and just hook up the laptop and be able to switch to any of the servers without having to have a dedicated monitor for the servers.

Well, it's not that simple. I suggest installing ssh servers on both and then you can access the machines from laptop. You only need an ssh client.
