Kubuntu and Centrino

Hello,

I just installed Kubuntu on my laptop, and the next step is to get it online. I have the Intel 2200a/b/g card, it is on (the light on my computer is on), but when I try to enable it in Kubuntu's network settings, it enables for a split second, then disables again. I have it set on automatic through DHCP, I entered the WEP key for my home network (what the heck is an ESSID?), but still no avail. Also, how can I configure it for more than one network?

Thanks.
