Kubuntu 22.04 ZFS stuffing UP

Hi All.
I searched for ZFS, didn't find anything.
I've had ZFS Raidz1 setups on my file server / HTPC for years now.
Last year, Kubuntu wouldn't "go away" with it's demand to upgrade to 22.04. Since it has, and there is now way of going back, all my Vdev's RaidZ1 have been getting errors after errors, and a scrub on one of the internal Vdev's only made things worse. I've lost 5 files that I know of, and have found many others that are corrupted. SMART is no longer an option, as in it is Greyed-out. It wasn't greyed-out in 20.04.
the internal Vdev's are connected via an LSI 2008 or 2024 (Flashed IT Mode=means all hdd's are presented to the OS and motherboard as if they are connected via there own sata port). I HAD SMART and full SCRUB capabilities, BEFORE 22.04 (which was 20.04)
My guess is either 22.04 has updated ZFS to version 3 and/or the LSI HBA card driver is not compatable.

Any body have a fault finding suggestion ?
Please.
And Thanks
Charles
Just an FYI 22.04 should be taking off of the market. It's the only version that had a windows persistent POP-UP that you could not un-install. I don't even know WHY ubuntu forced this upgrade. I've had a moto since forever. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Version 20.04 Kubuntu wasn't broken. 22.04 is just a mess. And in the last 5 months they have very quickly skipped 23.04 and are now into 24.04. I really want some bad language words here. But I don't want to be banned

I don't use ZFS.... That said, the only suggestion I have is wipe all the drives and start from scratch. Maybe your disks are going bad. You did say 'years'. I am sure you have complete backups of your data (RAID isn't a backup) right?, so once you have your raid system just the way your want it and disks (new or otherwise) have no errors, and have figured out what is going on. You can then just restore your data. At least that is something I'd try.

20.04 is supported till April 2025 so if you suspect that upgrade is to blame - reinstall 20.04. And you should really learn to configure your system the way you like and disable the stuff you don't need - kubuntu 20.04 I am using to write this message never even mentions upgrades, neither my 22.04 shows any pop-ups. Apart from that, its difficult to give any advice given the lack of information about your system configuration, logs, errors and such, but I would start by investigating whether your array is shut down properly - regular issues typically indicate that or hardware failure.

lvm_ I do try and disable all that I don't want. It isn't easy to do this when I don't have clue what something is. (IS it a system something. Is it garbage like cloud sync)... Google can helpful but I'm yet to find a minimal DESCRIPTION of the version of Kubuntu 20.04, 19, or 22. Even a "NEW" install set to minimum, I still get a bunch of stuff I don't want and is even explain wont be installed. I've read elsewhere that the default install regardless of what box you tick, is "standard". After that it does an update, then is meant to uninstall the things it "claims" to not install. This doesn't happen since 19.04.. 16.04 yes. 18.04, I am fairly sure it did.
Sorry to sound angry, but loosing data isn't fun. Oh! I can't afford to backup 40TB of DATA to ANOTHER source. I already have to external USB ZFS (DON't Do this) as backups of most things.
