kscd does not find cd

I configure kscd to use /media/cdrom where I had inserted an audio cd.
Konqueror see the audio cd under the "Audio CD browser" entry.
However, even using root to start kscd does not see the audio cd.
I use the kscd program which come with Fedora Core 3.
How to fix this problem?

have you tried using the actual device name e.g. /dev/hdc instead of /media/cdrom.

Using the actual device name /dev/hdc solve the problem.
kscd can play the audio cd.
However, there is no sound coming out of the speaker.
The "Use direct digital playback" checkbox is not selected.
I use xmms to play a mp3 file successfully so the speaker and sound setup is ok.
How to fix this problem?
