Kodak CX4200 Digital Camera

ok, my question is. Has anyone got this cam working in linux, specifically debian? and if so, how did you go about doing this? i tried searching the forums on here, for just this cam and found nothing, also google didn't help either..

I looked thru gtkam's supported cams and it is not listed there. I am not sure about other software, but it looks like you will need a separate driver for it (if one exists). You can try google or try emailing kodak or gtkam to see if they are going to build a driver for it. If you're a programmer, you could write your own driver for it.

THIS SITE has a few Kodaks listed. I know zero about kodak, but might be a start - and some contact info on others using kodaks.

http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/proj/l...o2/support.php

As far as direct camera interface, gphoto tends to be the bomb, they've got two similar models listed there and they tend to actually have more support then that list has...

However, if it still doesn't work, the easiest way to get around it instead of mucking about with all of the millions of drivers, is just to buy a CF card reader and be done with it. I hate buying my way around buggy hardware problems and I spent the better part of 5 months once trying every driver package on a crappy little $40 wireless card, but a CF reader is $5 these days... mine is a PNY from Bestbuy, I got it on coupons and instant rebates at I think something like $2.50, works ootb with 2.4.19 +

Cheers,
