Knoppix does not recognise RAID1, why?

due to OS boot related issues, i want to do a file copy in the pre-boot environment.
unfortunately Knoppix cannot help out. it does not recognise onboard raid1 (sata drives).
the system in question is ibm eserver 306.

any software out there that can help me achieve this?

dmraid is used for on board RAID.

Try running dmraid -ay; it'll make devices that looks like /dev/mapper/ihaklfhgwgh or something like that which you can then mount.

If you don't have dmraid on Knoppix, it's pretty easily obtained and compiled.

Servers are technical users. Might look at Opensuse for a live cd that can support servers. Most of the knoppix support is for home users.
