I am originally a windows user, with limited experience in Linux (SuSE and Knoppix). My hard drive died the other day and I wanted to use Knoppix until i can get a new hard drive, everything boots up fine, but it does not detect my onboard NIC, and I am not able to install drivers for it (i have them on a CD, but it spits some error out at me about a read-only filesystem) and i was wondering if anybody could offer a newbie some help I do use 2 cd-rom drives, which is how i'm able to run knoppix and install drivers from a CD at the same time. Here are my system specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (2ghz)
ATI X1600 Pro
1gb Dual Channel Ram (DDR400)

and my NIC is "Marvell Yukon 88E8001 Gigabit LAN" Onboard NIC (ASUS A8R-MVP Motherboard)

Also, i'm running v3 of Knoppix, i know it's old...i tried running a newer version, but it would not boot correctly, and freeze at the boot screen.
