Knoppix 3.7 ALSA 1.0.6 Audigy LS

Hi,
I am writing to ask if anyone has any experience with getting a Sound Blaster Audigy LS to work with Knoppix 3.7. I know that the Audigy LS drivers are included with ALSA 1.0.6, and Knoppix 3.7 does have alsa-lib 1.0.6, but running the convenient "soundcard configuration tool" included with Knoppix yeilds no results.
I want to run Knoppix as a LiveCD, without installing it to my hard drive, so I don't know if it is possible to get my soundcard working on a regular basis if I have to install software to make it work.
If anyone has some tips for me, I would appreciate it.

P.S. Slax LiveCD finds the card fine, also with ALSA 1.0.6. SO my guess is, even though Knoppix has alsa-lib 1.0.6, it must not have alsa-drivers 1.0.6

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I am sorry, I accidentally abandoned this thread because I forgot I posted it

I wasn't aware of that boot option, and so I tried it. but alas, I had no luck. I tried "knoppix alsa", "knoppix alsa=audigyls" , and "knoppix alsa=snd-audigyls" to no avail. Thanks for your help though. I think I will stick with Slax LiveCD for the time being.

I thought I would post a reply just in case others with my soundcard are having problems. I didn't get the card working with Knoppix 3.7 but there are two other alternatives:
Slax LiveCD, a Slackware based LiveCD that works with the card just fine, or
Dyne:Bolic, a multimedia-based distribution that also detects the card properly. The card works with Version 1.4 .

On both LiveCD's, I had to go to a terminal and type:
alsamixer
to get the volume set on the card (it is muted by default).

In order to get XMMS to play smoothly in DyneBolic, I had to go to Options-> Preferences -> and set the "Output Plugin" to "ALSA 1.2.9 output plugin [libALSA.so]". Then I went to "Configure" and under the "Advanced Settings" tab I set the "Buffer time" to 8400 and the "Period time"' to 1. This allowed XMMS to play the music without skips.
