Keypad sends mouse events in X

I just bought myself a new keyboard today, a Logitech UltraX Flat. In X, the keypad sends mouse events instead of keyboard events. I can control the mouse pointer with it, but I'd much rather use my keyboard as a keyboard. Using xev, there is no way of telling that the events aren't coming from a mouse. There is a small mouse icon on the NumLock key, and I've tried fiddling with it in various ways, but without result.

The strangest part is perhaps that if I switch to a text console, the keyboard behaves normally, and after switching back to X, it goes into mouse mode again. I assume it has something to do with the X keyboard driver, althoug I was under the impression all PS/2 keyboards worked the same way. If someone could please help me get my keyboard working properly, I would be most grateful.

Thanks,
Odie

It's working now

The next day, the keyboard worked as expected, and has done so ever since. I am unable now to reproduce the problem. Oh, well, it works now, and it's a nice keyboard, so I am happy.
