Keyboard problem ?UK should be US

I think I messed up during the install and selected UK keyboard instead of US. Various keys give different charater to what is on the actual keyboard. eg @ and " seem to have swapped places and pressing the hash key gives me a pound (money) symbol.

Is there any way I can change this? Thanks

Mandrake 10.1
AMD Athlon 2000+
Keyboard standard 101-102/MS Natural PS2

Any help greatly appreciated.

(Trying to learn linux!)

That usually happens to me, but the other way round. I dislike it when distros use US keyboard by default . Anyway, you can change this in your Mandrake Control Centre. Also make sure that your /etc/X11/xorg.conf has the keyboard layout as "us" instead of "gb".

Thanks very much for that. I can only think that I was musing about spelling, and wanting UK spelling ... Anyway all fixed now, and I can get around my keyboard again.
