keyboard not works in redhat el

Hi all,

i have a problem with my redhat enterprise 3 (2.4.21-4.EL).
When the system boot, my keyboard works fine, if i push the capslock button, the led turn on, but when the login windows appears the keyboard not works and i don't succed to access in the system.
I login to linux system by ssh from another pc, but i don't succed to configure the keyboard.. i check the configuration files like /etc/X11/XF86Config, but this is ok!

can someone help me to solve this problem?!?

thanks in advance..
regards,
Vinc.

hi slackie,

the keyboard is an Compaq, but i think this not important, anyway in my XF86Config file the keyboard configurations is the follow:

Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "it"

I think it's right ..

nothing weird in the X log file?
in your XF86Config, is the keyboard included in the ServerLayout section?
