Keyboard not working with X after upgrade

I upgraded my debian (2.6 kernel) computer last night. Mostly KDE 3.3 packages - I am not exactly sure which packages.

Anyway, now whenever I type (in KDE and XFce) the computer stalls then continues, but doesn't type. Typing does work outside of X in the text console etc.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Maybe I should reinstall X or reconfigure it...

BTW dmesg and Xfree86 logs don't show any errors... - at least I can't see any.

TIA,

John.
