Cool keyboard dead with kernel 2.6.4

Well, I have a linux box with winxp, freebsd, slack9.1, keyboard work fine with all the os but when I recompiled the 2.6.4 kernel on the slack I get on the login and I cannot type anything cause the keyboard is dead, I want to point that is a normal ps/2 keyboard, the mouse ps/2 either is working fine, I dont have the problem with the 2.4.22 kernel on the same distro, it seems a bit strange I know but I dont have a clue of what to do, if you need more info please let me know, by the way the dmesg doesn`t give me any error message, everything seems fine but anyway my keyboard is dead (I repeat is working fine with freeBSD, win, 2.4.22 kernel)
Any help would be apreciated.

it seems you left something out... or perhaps you included something like:

Code:
PCI PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse controller (SERIO_PCIPS2)
that you ought not have...

check your kernel config & make sure everything is there that needs to be

I have a (2.6.3) kernel switch

CONFIG_KEYBOARD_ATKBD=y

which seems to be necessary, and has no equivalent in the 2.4 kernel.
