kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 09:01
EXT2fs unable to read superblock
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=09:01, iso_blknu=16, block=32 kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 09:01 On rebooting a Linux SQL server after it fell over during the night, I as greated with this. It is set with RAID. At first I was informed only one hard drive had failed, but on a subsequent reboot another failed leaving only one standing. The server is being rebuilt. What would have caused this? |
That's weird, because although I don't know why your RAID went kazoo, that's the same failure that a lot of people get from RedHat installation CDroms when the kernel fails to mount part of the CD as a piece of the root partition, hence all of the isofs errors...
