Kernel panic... Fatal exception

Hello,

CPU: AM
D Athlon XP
Linux Dist: Suse 10.0

I successfully installed Suse 10.0 on this computer. However, I've run into a problem which presents itself on the boot-up.

<0>Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

That last time my brother used this computer he was trying to connect to a digital camera. I suspect this may have lead to the problem. However, please let me know if this perception is incorrect.

I'd appreciate your suggestions on how to fix this.

Thanks,
K

Best to do a full system diagnostics - memtest and hard drive checkup - check the website of your hard drive manufacturer for diagnostics tools. PowerMax for Maxtor - its a bootable CD you run.

I'm afraid its all I can help you with - I am still pretty much learning Linux and have got to get hardware acceleration to work on my FC4 system.
