Kernel panic; no init found

Hi.

I just installed a new, blank 40G western digital HDD (removed the old 2G HDD with RH9) and am starting over to install redhat9. This old pc133 won't boot from CD-ROM, so I'm using a boot floppy that I have used before.

I get Kernel panic, no init found try passing init= option to kernel. I tried boot: linux init=1 with same error message.
Help!

BTW, this is the continuation of last night's post on how to partition new HDD.

TIA,

Dave

Try a new floppy image from the RH9 Install CD 1.

you're probably getting a kernel incompatibility with your
computer. you can try different boot images or download
a floppy bootloader that can boot the cdrom. there are
several on the web.
