Hello everyone,

First post here, I apologize for not being able to produce any lspci output since the different liveCDs I have been trying have never booted on my brand new computer.

I think the problem comes from the hard drive : the errors look like this :

ata1:00 Exception Emask
ata1 : hard resetting link
ata1.00: status: { DRDY ERR }

I'll be trying to get Knoppix running as advised and will link for more info if able.

More info : Windows 7 gets intalled and runs properly on legacy mode.

Any clue of what's going on here?

Edit : Finally managed to run ubuntu-linux-secure-13.04 with my DVD drive unplugged.

You should try booting with the acpi flag set to acpi=off noapic
