Kernel 2.6.12 not working with MSI 865PE Neo2-V motherboard

As I wrote in the previous post (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=372901), MSI 865PE Neo2-V cannot be used with Mandriva 2006. It locks up at the very first stages of booting and the last message is "Probing PCI hardware (bus 00)". I have no PCI-devices and the onboard SATA-, sound- and network-controllers are disabled from the BIOS. There are also no IRQ-conflicts AND I have this mobo on 2 very different computers having completely different hardware (except the mobo), so that eliminates a lot of possible bad hardware-combinations/faulty motherboard. Also ran a memory test on both computers.

Well, now it seems that this issue is not Mandriva-specific. SuSe 10 does the same thing and locks up exactly with the same message (not booting even with the "Safe mode"-option). I assume SuSe 10 also has 2.6.12-kernel?

Tried using "noauto", disabling ACPI, disabling APIC, updating BIOS, all the basic stuff... nothing helps. Does anyone else have this motherboard and what are your experiences? It seems to work with Linux kernel 2.6.11 and older, but 2.6.12 and later freeze at boot. Am I going to need to switch away 2 motherboards?

I'm going to test some other distros with new kernels soon, even when I know what to expect. Will report here then.

Also tried latest Kubuntu now. Gets stuck to same phase.

Found out that SuSe 10 uses kernel 2.6.13. So it seems that kernels 2.6.12 and up don't work with this motherboard at all. 2.6.11 still worked.
