Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

kernel 2.6.0 and RAID1 speed up?

G'day~!

I am using Redhat 9 (kernel-2.4.20-8) and just upgraded my kernel to 2.6.0.
Just wondering any RAID1 users here notice the speed difference during the re-mirroring process?

When I was using the original RH9 kernel the re-mirroring speed is less than 3,000K/sec... I took me 2 and the half hours to re-mirror my 40GB Hard drive!
Using the new 2.6.0 kernel, the speed went up almost 10 times! Its around 30,000K/sec now!

Is that normal?

Hope people out there can tell me about their personal experiences~
Thanks in advance~
