Question KDE freezes on multiple monitor boot

I am using Red Hat 8.0. KDE freezes when it is "restoring ..." in the final step. Both my monitors have the bar streched across and recognized. Normally I use GNOME but KDE automaticly boots when I use:
startx -- +xinerama
I do not know why.

I am using the following XF86Config:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Multiple Monitors"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
Screen 1 "Screen1" leftof "Screen0"
InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Mouse1" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

Section "Files"
RgbPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb"
FontPath "unix/:7100"
EndSection

#I do not know what these mean

EndSubSection
EndSection

#I do not know what this means
Section "DRI"

EndSection

Any idea why it freezes?
How do I have Red Hat 8.0 automatically start with -- +xinerama extensions?

To answer the second question first, add the line:

Option "xinerama" "on"

To the "ServerLayout" section, right below the keyboard info. RH does some funky Xinit goofy stuff, but all of it can be overridden by creating a file called: /home/whoever/.xinitrc

Try:

locate xinitrc

and you should have example copies for all the common desktops somewhere that you can simply copy over and rename or, symlink to.

The freezing? dunno, xinerama does some weird weird things sometimes.

Cheers,

You change the default LINUX GUI in the prefdm file.
