K3b CD write error

I keep on getting the same error when trying to burn a CD:

Code:
cdrecord returned an unknown error (code 254)
Unknown error 254
Please send me an email with the last output.
I know there is similar thread to this one, but they're not about exactly the same problem I have and I don't want to hijack them.

Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Try to burn a cd from the command line. If you can burn it from the command line then there's something wrong with your k3b. Try running the following:

cdrecord filetoburn.iso

After you said there might be something wrong with k3b i checked my version and then updated it. Now it is working. I checked my cdrecord before but not k3b. Thank you!
