Just installed LMDE 64 bit, can't install Brother Printer MFC J410W drivers.

Tried GDebi package installer but got message: Error wrong architecture i386. Printer worked fine when I used Mint 12 64 bit. What do I need to do?

Brother supplies 32 bit drivers only as far as I know. You have a 64 bit system. You will need to install 32 bit comparability libs.

You can tell easy enough if you have them or not. From a konsole, go to the root. Look for a /lib directory. If you see only /lib64, you do not have the 32 bit libs installed.

Thanks for the info Camorri. I checked for the required directories and found they were present. What I needed to do was create the following directories, /var/spool/lpr/mfcj410w using the root terminal, once I did that, the dpkg -i --force-all command worked just fine. Can now print. Thanks again. Herve
