Just an abstact question about h.264 hardware encoders.

I was thinking about how there are devices that can encode to h.264 in real time. I was wondering if there was such a device the average desktop user could have in a usb or a pci port where you would send it a decoded stream, and it would give you a raw encoded stream of that video in h.264.

decoder, encoder, h.264, hardware, linux
