Jpilot will not hotsync with palm Zire 21 in Fedora Core 2 or 3

I have been having a tough time getting my Zire 21 to hotsync with Jpilot. I was getting an error right when it sounded like it was going to hotsync. It would even make the noise that it was going to connect then is would lose connection.

I have found the solution. There seems to be a problem with USB 2.0 and the Zire. If I connect a none USB 2.0 hub to my USB 2.0 connector on the back of my computer and then plug my Zire into the hub. The Zire will hotsync just fine.
