joysticks

ok.. i can't find how to get it going on the midi port on my sb16.. so how??!!! just a bog standard gravis gamepad.. never ever bothered with it before. i tried loading the joydev adn grip drivers... and they go in fine via modprobe, but nope. also the kernels joystick.txt file says to create joystick devices with mknod js0 c 15 0 , but i already have them, but using 13 instead of 15... wow i can be just as vague as a newbie can't i?
