iwconfig not showing my WLAN adapter

I'm using a Netopia 802.11b WLAN USB Adapter. I installed ndiswrapper and used it to set up all of the drivers. When I use ndiswrapper -l, it shows the driver and next to it "drivers present, hardware present" but when I yank the adapter and use ndiswrapper -l again, it just says "drivers present" so I know it's at least being detected. Now I set it up in the "Network Card" section of YaST as wlan0 following some instructions I found, link lost, but it's not showing up when I use iwconfig. I've tried using ifconfig up with no results. I only have lo, eth0 and sit0. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Also I should have pointed out that I'm using SuSE 10.

try #modprobe ndiswrapper

this should insert ndiswrapper for sure...also, is there a light on your computer that lets you know the wireless is working? If it isn't on, then the kernel has no idea its there
