it's been a while

i think i've had this problem before and i fixed it, but now i can't remember what i did, nor can i find an answer here...

i have a dvdrom and a cdrw...

i listen to cds with xmms, and just recently i noticed that only my dvdrom can be used to play cds. with my cdrw, no playlist comes up, and if i try to show it in konqueror it tells me there's no songs there. weird.

i think last time i did something with the links to my drives so i checked those out...basically this is what i have...

/dev/cdrom is a link to /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 --- this is my dvdrom
/dev/cdrom1 is a link to /dev/cdroms/cdrom1 --- this is my cdrw

/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 is a link to /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd -- dvdrom
/dev/cdroms/cdrom1 is a link to /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target3/lun0/cd -- cdrw

/dev/hdc also points to /dev/ide/host0... --dvdrom
/dev/scd0 points to /dev/scsi/host0... -- cdrw

date cds can be read in both drives, so it would seem the only problem is reading audio cds in my cdrw. is it because it is only mounted as a scsi? maybe i need to mount it again as /dev/hd(x)...?

this is obviously not an incredibly crucial issue, but it's one i'd like to resolve if i could.

thanks.
