Your graphics device is dying. The two BIOS screenshots indicates this. Behavior described above may be a typical behavior of dying hardware aka "switch to death". A could boot causes a maximum inrush current that may kill a hardware component immediately. Another reason for behavior described above may be flexing especially in laptops.

Remove any usable part from your laptop and inter the rest at a recycling depot.

Although most chips work indefinitely, there is a % failure rate with no explanation. There doesn't have to be a cause - it just happens.

OK, thanks for confirming my thoughts... As I wrote above, I also estimated it as GPU failure (especially taking into account the amount of failed nvidia GPUs in Thinkpads and Dells that time).
