issues compiling wireless driver with 2.6.26.8-elive-686 (where are linux headers?)

i installed elive

i have the rtl8187b wireless card

i know exactly what driver i want because i have used it with other distros and this driver seems to work the best
http://www.datanorth.net/~cuervo/blo...s-and-patches/

i have installed build-essential and linux headers 2.6.26.8-elive-686

the problem is that i get an error when i try to run ./makedrv
Code:
[tj ~/Downloads/rtl8187b-modified]$ ./makedrv
rm -fr *.mod.c *.mod *.o .*.cmd *.mod.* *.ko *.o *~
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.26.8-elive-686/build M=/home/tj/Downloads/rtl8187b-modified/ieee80211 CC=gcc modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.26.8-elive-686/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [modules] Error 2
rm -fr *.mod.c *.mod *.o .*.cmd *.ko *~
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.26.8-elive-686/build M=/home/tj/Downloads/rtl8187b-modified/rtl8187 CC=gcc modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.26.8-elive-686/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [modules] Error 2
[tj ~/Downloads/rtl8187b-modified]$

i have read this following quote on the compat-wireless package requirements but i assume the same must be true for the driver that i want to use
Quote:
Please be very sure you have your kernel headers installed before reporting any sort of build issues with this package. This usually will mean having this symlink point to a valid directory with kernel headers in it:
Quote:
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
so basically what i need to know is what directory can i find the linux headers in?

Try:

Code:
locate 2.6.26.8-elive-686
and figure from there.
