ISDN connection stopped working after online update

Hi!

I'm using SUSE 8.1 and everything (inluding dial-up) worked properly (of course after a few days of hard work :-) but as it was a fresh install, I decided to update a few packages online.
I have an internal ISDN modem - Billion E-tech - SUSE automatically detects and installs it, but under a different name, here's the config from YaST:

"Already configured devices:
CCD HFC 2BDS0
Configured as contr0
ISDN connection
to axelero with syncppp on net0"

In the online update I checked out a lot of updates, that were too large to download, only the smaller remained.
After finishing the online update, I worked a few hours (used the net, ssh-ed, browsed, etc...), then restarted the computer (I change between XP and Linux).
When I went back to Linux, and tried to connect it was succesful but cannot reach, browse, ping anything, however the phone line is busy. There's no network traffic.
I'm a quite newbie to linux, I tried to read forums (by changing operating systems), but no result.

With ifconfig I detect the settings of ippp0, every time I reconnect it gets a different IP address (as it should) and mask is always 255.255.255.255.

I'm a little bit mad, because I had a working config, that blew. It is very strange, because Linux is not the OS that should be restarted to get things working, so whatever went wrong, it should happen immediately after update.

Help is appreciated. If a config or log is needed to better understand the problem, I'll post it (just name it)

Or maybe I just wait for the 9.1 hungarian release, and it should solve the problem? :-)))))
