ISA slot adapter to USB

Years ago, there existed an ISA adapter which provided USB ports for USB1; this was when PCI came on strong. I have an old Supermicro PS.... Board 500 Mhz. mobo which runs both WinXP and Mandriva 2009 just fine...except, of course quite slowly and with the problem that all the PCI ports are taken. It has 1 available ISA port.

Does anyone have an idea where an ISA adapter could be found which provides USB2? This may be pure folly.

Why not

Would it not be more likely that you could find an ISA version of one of the cards you have in a PCI slot and use it, thereby freeing a PCI slot for a USB 2.0 card?

I would think that some cards, for example sound cards, were more common in ISA than others were, and would be more available than a USB card as part of a swap to free up a PCI spot.

Good luck; folly on.

It has been a long time but I do not think the ISA bus can handle USB2.0 speeds. You might look at the PCI cards you have installed and look for a multifunction card to replace them (turn 2 or more cards into 1).
