What is the difference between ISA and PCI Modems?

Major Differences
ISA:
not plug and play
-require physical jumper configuration
-requires configuration of IRQ in BIOS and OS
hardware i.e. UART
bus no longer supported.
supported in linux

PCI:
plug and play
most do not use UART i.e. winmodem
winmodem may or may not be supported in linux
