Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Is this NIC compatible?

HELP!

I am looking for an NIC which I can use on my RedHat 8.0 PII machine. I found one at the radioshack website http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...Fid=25%2D3000# which looks fine but the RedHat compatability page makes very little sense. http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/?page...etails&hid=271

It says that it is compatible with RedHat 7.0, but it seems to say that the version 4.0 and 4.1 cards are both compatible and incompatible with RH7, and it says nothing about RH8. I don't see the drivers in the select card type in the machines install wizard but the hardware compatability page says that it can use the drivers on the floppy disk sometimes, I think. CAN I USE THIS NETWORK CARD?

This card will work with 8.0. In version 7.0 ( The Buggy Version ) there were problems with this card and using the tulip driver that shipped with 7.0.

So no worries, that NIC is what I primarily use in all of my home machines.

Thanks! I'll get it next time I stop by RadioShack.
