Is there such a thing as an eReader for Linux users?

After ten years of use my Kindle Paperweight 2 was given the hammer after all my accumulated books and pdf's were deleted and the account purged.

So now in search of an eReader for my Linux Mate 20.1 desktop and laptop. If there are such what do the majority use.

Thanks

This may be a little backwards but just thought of this. The defacto standard of open source ebook managers is Calibre. Maybe see what readers it supports and work from there? Maybe an older Android tablet might work? I don't use a reader, just my phone so can't speak to this.

Are you looking for an eBook viewer for Linux desktop? Besides Calibre (that comes with its own viewer), FBReader and Foliate come to mind. Some PDF viewers (e.g. MuPDF, Okular) are also capable of rendering EPUB format.

I find it doesn't really work as well as the hype. Unless you have a convertible laptop that completely folds back, reading in portrait is a PITA.
I take a kobo with me if I need to read ebpubs/pdfs - great for holidays at the beach or in the bush. Keep everything on your laptop, and move to the kobo as needed.

The kobo is what I have gotten away from. It's the Australian version of Amazon's Kindle!

I've used FBReader for years and like it a lot. It should be in your repos.

It's my go-to ebook reader on Linux and Android (it has releases for other platforms also).

If indeed it is Linux related question then <Linux-General> would be the correct forum for question(s) related to the Linux application unless it is a question related to the software program itself. If you delve into the internals of that program to help improve the program itself via changes to the program then possibly contact with maintainer(s) would be the place.

The direct answer to your question is "Yes".
But there is not A e-reader for Linux users, there are a dozen or more e-readers for Linux users!
Some of the best have been mentioned.

You might more useful answers if you were more specific about what you are looking for in e-reader software.
