Question Is Radeon X300 Later Than Radeon 8500?

Hi all,

OK, so it says on ATI's website that...

Quote:
The ATI Proprietary Linux driver currently supports Radeon 8500 and later AGP or PCI Express graphics products, as well as FireGL 8700 and later products.
i have a Radeon X300. So how can i tell whether that is "earlier" or "later" than the Radeon 8500? (erm i don't exactly "track" GPU releases...)

*sheesh... couldn't they just provide a list of supported hardware...

TIA and Regards,
Edwin
