Is bluetooth difficult to configure in Linux?

Hello all

I want to get a USB bluetooth adapter but I never bought one before. Are these devices difficult to configure in linux?

Second, what profile in the bluetooth specs do I need to transfer files from PC to android phone via bluetooth?

Thanks

Which Linux? It's going to vary greatly depending on your distro.

Which distro?

I have used various el cheapo Bluetooth adapters, they cost me between US$2 - US$5 each. Two to five US Dollars. And they all worked upon insertion into the USB port and never required user intervention to be recognized or to function.

I use Debian-sih distro's such as Zorin, Mint and Ubuntu, mainly.

Yes, I know that now. Since I never used a bluetooth device before, I assumed it would be problematic like wifi cards did in the past. I did do some research and found out that they are pretty much PNP devices as Germany_chris pointed out.

Thanks

It was impossible to get the same devices and also HSDPA dongles to work in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Linux isn't more difficult that other systems, especially if you are using Mint or Zorin. I hope your Linux life is pleasurable
