just out of PURE curiosity is the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro compatible with a linux box ? im getting a new computer due to this motherboard is dieing DAMN YOU EMACHINES!!!!!!!!!! if anyone also has an answer as to why an Ultra ATA/100 isn't working with my P4 emachines running Windows XP Pro PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!!!

I have one running here on Xandros. It's fine. I don't play games so I have no idea how the 3D acceleration is, though.

ATI support for Linux is pretty pathetic, have a look at the article on Linux answers re the Radeon 9600XT -

The 9800 is a good card, but if you haven't already bought one I'd go for NVidia
